November’s Safety GOAL - Making Our Workplace Safe

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 by Treavor Bramwell

Safety First

At Minuteman Parking, we pride ourselves in making sure that all work areas are safe for our team members, our guests and our patients. Our November safety program is called Go Out And Look or GOAL.

Frank Estrada, founder of Safety 101, has this to say about workplace safety:

“In the workplace, Go Out And Look. If it doesn’t look right it’s probably not safe. Say something. Everyone has a responsibility for safety. Your chances of going home safely at the end of the day are better if you take your time. Plan your work, then work your plan. Before beginning your work day, talk about what safety measures will be implemented, and what resources are needed. All accidents can be prevented. No one should be ‘required’ to work in unsafe conditions. Shortcuts usually lead to disaster. Consider what hazards can be eliminated, then consider what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is necessary to further protect your employees.”

We are asking for help from all of our team members to make sure possible safety hazards and unsafe work conditions are properly addressed and reported. Each manager will be responsible for reporting all known issues to the location’s engineering department.

What can be considered a Safety Hazard? Here are a few examples:

  • Oil spills
  • Water on the floor
  • Burned out light bulbs
  • Pot holes
  • Broken pieces of sidewalk
  • Parking lot obstructions, such as chains, closed gates or broken gate arms

With all of our team members helping us prevent unsafe work conditions, we will be able to improve the safety of our properties and limit the number of worker compensation claims.

So let’s all pitch in and make sure that are locations are safe for everyone.

Welcome to the Minuteman Parking Blog

Welcome to Minuteman Parking’s new blog.

As part of our website re-design, we have added a blog and news feature so we can keep you updated on the latest happenings in the Minuteman Parking world.  The management team intends to write a post or include a news item on a weekly basis, so check back frequently for new updates.

Some other new features of our new website include:

  • Updated logo and color scheme - We have updated the Minuteman logo so the Patriot is holding a flag which seems more appropriate.  Plus we continue to reinforce our patriotic theme with a red, white and blue color scheme.
  • Focus on our key business lines - The updated website highlights our key business lines of Hotels, Medical Facilities and Special Events.  We have included customer testimonials on each page and have provided a summary list of our customers on the the About Us page.
  • New management bios - We have added management bios for all key employees.  In addition, we have included email addresses to make it easier to contact us directly.
  • Videos - We have uploaded three new videos to the site to take advantage of the power of demonstrating our capabilities visually.  Two of the videos focus on our primary business lines of Hotels and Medical Facilities, and the third video shows what it is like to work at Minuteman.
  • New forms - We have made it easier for our customers and prospects to contact us through the use of forms which are linked on every page.  The forms include a request for more information, a request for a quote and a form to provide customer feedback.

Our site was designed by the executionists in Marina Del Rey, and we think they did a great job capturing our message and our “Commitment to Excellence”.

Please take some time to explore our new website and feel free to send us your feedback.
