Minuteman Goes Home with the Bronze!

Thursday, October 25th, 2012 by Kelly Harris

Last week Minuteman got beautifully bronzed in sunny Hollywood, Florida at the National Parking Association Annual Convention. This year’s conference was the first time Minuteman played in the Valet Olympics competition, and not only did we have a great time, but we won third place out of nine teams! We are extremely proud of our valet attendants for a job well done and spreading the Minuteman spirit!

The National Parking Association (NPA) holds the Valet Olympics in conjunction with their Annual Convention every Fall. The conference is a great way to meet and network with industry professionals and is open to both members and nonmembers. So come meet and greet next year at the 2013 annual meeting and bring your game for some parking competition!

Minuteman Joins Women In Parking

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 by Kelly Harris

As of Fall 2012, Minuteman is officially the newest Women In Parking (WIP) member and we couldn’t be more excited about it! A couple of our employees have registered with the new organization in order to unite with other females in the industry. The organization provides a great way to grow as individuals as well as parking professionals.

Women In Parking is the premier association in the parking industry for female professionals to network, learn, and share with colleagues across North America. The organization holds quarterly webinars, bi-monthly newsletters, and networking events in collaboration with the National Parking Association and the International Parking Association. Deemed the “Business Advancement Resource for Women in Parking,” WIP is home to women (and men!), 20-somethings just starting their careers to 80-somethings with all the wisdom, and industry experts from parking technology to service providers, and everything in between! This association is an excellent way to meet parking professionals and get involved with peers who can help both you and your company grow.

National Parking Association Recognition

Thursday, August 23rd, 2012 by Kelly Harris

Craig Owens, our VP of Operations here at Minuteman, recently had the honor of being asked to publish an article in Parking magazine for the National Parking Association. This article was written from Craig’s point of view on how becoming a Certified Parking Professional (CPP) can and will change the entire dynamic of your involvement in the world of parking. Craig received his CPP certification last year, and after 20+ years in the parking industry, he welcomed the opportunity to refresh his perspective on our operations.

This is the second article that has been published in Parking magazine by a Minuteman Executive, and we are thrilled to be able to express our expertise in the nation’s leading parking publication. Thank you National Parking Association and Mr. Owens for your excellent insight!

A Day in the Life of a VP

Monday, November 28th, 2011 by Kelly Harris

Minuteman is proud to announce that our very own Vice President of Finance, Wilson Tang, was honorably recognized by National Parking Association magazine. The magazine featured Wilson in their September 2011 issue. He was specifically chosen to give his professional executive perspective on finance and management due to his success at Minuteman Parking and his past achievements in auditing and executive positions with Nestle, Dole, and GTE.

As Vice President of Finance, it is Wilson’s job to monitor profits, growth, and foresee future revenue. This includes but is not limited to: responsibility of all accounting, payroll, and timekeeping, as well as claims administrations. It is the Vice President’s job to not only manage all the company’s finances and make sure everything is balanced and running smoothly, but to also ensure warm customer care is provided and solicited.

Wilson joined the Minuteman family in 2006. After just 5 short years with him aboard, Minuteman Parking has seen phenomenal progress and exponential growth. With a shared goal of maximizing revenue while simultaneously providing unbeatable customer service, we plan to maintain this outstanding reputation. Minuteman would like to extend a sincere thank you to Wilson for all his hard work. Here’s to the next 5 years!
